Elephants Call!
Take breakfast in the fresh morning air. Eat well, for we're
off on a morning elephant safari trek through the cool dark
rainforests of Khao Sok National Park.
We'll visit the waterfalls and pause awhile for a splashing
good time in the cool pools of solid stone. Next, back to
the topic of food for lunch on the riverbank.
Buddhist Temple
A visit to Thailand isn't complete without exploring a few
Buddhist temples in the mountains and you won't be disapointed.
Despite not being on the well-worn tourist trail, these
temples are nonetheless charismatic chambers of intrigue
and folklore that provide a mountain haven for meditatation
and enlightenment to the ordinary Thai person.
Bamboo Rafting
Later, depending on the water level, we may make a short
bamboo rafting (and swimming?) expedition to check out the
stone grotto and the other hidden mysteries that lay beyond
the next river bend.
We'll certainly find a rich variety of colorful birds,
vegetation, flowers, and fruits. And if we don't make too
much noise, we may even discover some of the less gregarious
riverbank inhabitants of this picturesque water highway.
Homeward Bound
On our way back to Phuket Island we'll skirt around the
famous James Bond Island area better known to the locals
as Phang-Nga Bay.
That famous limestone mountain hurtling up from the depths
of the Gulf of Thailand is profoundly impressive no matter
how many times you've see it.
Meanwhile, lay back and enjoy the ever-changing view from
the comfort of your air-conditioned seat as we cross over
the Sarasin Bridge, gateway to Phuket Island, and back to
your hotel on Phuket Island.
You'll bring back memories to cherish, and photos to remind
you of this exotic garden of paradise.
Sadly, these fragile delights of Mother Earth may soon
wither and vanish! So don't miss out on this unique opportunity
when you visit Thailand.
